What is FEP wire insulation?

FEP wire insulation is made of FEP material, we also call it fluoroplastic insulation wire, it is one of the high temperature Teflon wire, fep wire insulation can withstand high temperatures of 250 degrees Celsius, FEP wire insulation can withstand high voltage up to thousands of volts, like 15KV, or 20KV. FEP wire insulation also has excellent oil resistance performance. FEP wire insulation compared to PVC wire insulation, it has a smaller thickness, Stronger hardness, so the FEP wire insulation has better physical and electrical performance than PVC wire insulation.

What is the difference between PTFE and FEP wire insulation?

PTFE wire and FEP wire are all Teflon wires, But their materials are different, one is PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) insulation material, and the other is FEP (Fluorinated ethylene propylene) insulation material, both of which are corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant materials, widely used in electronic and electrical fields,

1. Their rated temperatures are different, the PTFE wire is 260C, but the FEP wire is 200C, So we need to choose different temperature resistance based on actual usage, whether PTFE wire or FEP wire, 

2. Their production process is different, FEP wire and PVC wire are similar. High temperature extrusion process is used for production and manufacturing. After melting plastic particles at high temperature, we control the wire diameter to push and shape them, and then cool them down. However, the production process of PTFE wire is different. The equipment of PTFE wire needs to be sealed and then made through sintering process, which also requires a long cooling time. In addition, there are also significant differences in raw material storage. PTFE insulation needs to be stored at low temperature and constant temperature, while FEP insulation needs to be stored at room temperature.
